About Garmin

Garmin started out in 1989 with a group of engineers with one clear goal in mind: to create and produce communication and navigation devices that are useful for daily life.  They first focused on products maximizing the use of the Global Positioning System (GPS)

These initial products branched out to other wireless applications.  Garmin are now active in a variety of markets, including aviation, marine, automotive, cellular and fitness.

Garmin is based in Olathe, Kansas and employs over 7,000 people around the world.  It is a publicly-traded company listed on the NASDAQ exchange (GRMN-Q).  It had sales of $2.8 billion in its last fiscal year.

Along with Cervelo bicycles, Garmin sponsors professional cycling teams, including a team at the world’s most prestigious events, including the Tour de France.  You can learn more about the Garmin-Cervelo teams at slipstreamsports.com.
